Kindergarten Readiness

From July 2 to Aug 29, 2025
Monday - Friday:
 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

In support for the children entering Junior or Senior Kindergarten (JK/SK) at the school in the fall, we have tailored a program to prepare the children in taking that big giant step forward. We understand being away from their parent(s)/caregiver(s) is a very nerve-racking experience for many children and this short 2.5-hour program is perfect for them to learn and develop the independency needed when away from their parent(s)/caregiver(s).

Our program follows ELECT (Early Learning for Early Child Today), which is developed by Ministry of Education as a frame work for children's development. In the program, our experienced educators will assess and support the children based on their current abilities, and developmental level.

Areas we will focus on developing and nurturing are:
Self-help: dressing,
toileting, taking care of their own belongings, etc.
Self-regulation: managing difficult emotions positively.
Social: conflict resolution, turn-taking and perspective taking, etc.
Language and communication: letter recognition, writing, phonic sounds, vocabulary, speaking, etc.
Cognitive:
number recognition, writing, counting, and understanding the basic function of numbers (numeracy), etc.

Our teachers will provide feedback and recommendation to ensure the children are meeting their developmental milestones. If needed, we will connect families to outside resources to maximize the children's potential.

Every child is a different kind of flower and all together, make this world a beautiful garden.
